Acoustic Soul – music for the soul

[german]

When three distinguished and sought-after professional musicians come together to play unplugged concerts, you can be sure it's more than just a way of passing the time of day. And anyone who musically bares their soul so openly, has to know exactly what they're doing and why. Danyelle Vanes, Sebastian Cuthbert and Dirk Benner - whose vocal and instrumental talents have been used by artists like Andrae Crouch, Paul Colman, Edwin Hawkins, Nena, Darrell Mansfield and many others - are now channelling their entire musical creativity and practical experience into their own Acoustic Soul project.

The Acoustic Soul sound revolves around the fascinating voices of Danyelle Vanes and Sebastian Cuthbert (drummer for Paul Colman in Europe). Skilled in all disciplines of lead and background vocals, the perfect harmonisation these two singers achieve is of a very high standard and enables them to generate impressive vocal interpretations of their songs. Clearly at ease with a range of styles, Danyelle Vanes and Sebastian Cuthbert epitomise confidence and a completely natural and boundless pleasure in singing. They are accompanied on keyboards by Dirk Benner, who has gained an excellent reputation in the music scene as a sessions musician, arranger and producer.

Acoustic Soul's music is stimulating in the very best sense of the word. First class songs that take route one to the ears and implant themselves there, making it almost impossible not to join in and sing along. It's a well known, yet effective recipe: simply mix good song material and voices with an element of catchiness(??), add a little soul and a few groove elements and compliment the all round taste with the long-standing stage and studio experience of the artists' concerned. The result is music for connoisseurs who appreciate the extraordinary. In Acoustic Soul, anyone into great voices and hand-made music will find exactly what they're looking for.

On stage, Acoustic Soul are now presenting their current CD 'Come over here', the group's own production. This is an electrifying, passionate and excellently produced album with moving soul ballads, inspiring unplugged songs and driving funky numbers influenced in style by the gospel, soul and R&B of late 70s.

A concert with Acoustic Soul is pure musical enjoyment. The songs are good and the singing inspirational. You can really feel that what these musicians are presenting on stage is their music, the genuine, authentic article. And this is what makes it great fun to listen to!
